Statements on Standards for
Accounting and Review Services (SSARS)
Our firm performs preparation, compilation, and review engagements in accordance with the Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services (SSARS), which govern accounting and financial reporting services provided to non-public entities. These services are designed to assist management in presenting financial information in a clear and reliable format appropriate to the needs of owners, lenders, and other stakeholders.
Preparation Services
Financial statement preparation services involve assisting management in the preparation of financial statements without providing assurance or issuing a formal report. This service is appropriate for internal use or for situations where third parties require professionally prepared financial statements but do not require assurance.
Compilation Services (With or Without Independence)
In a compilation engagement, we assist management in presenting financial information in the form of financial statements. A compilation does not provide assurance; however, a formal accountant’s report is issued. Independence is not required, but if we are not independent, that fact is disclosed in the report. Compilations are often requested by lenders or stakeholders who require financial statements be prepared by a CPA.
Review Services
A review engagement provides limited assurance that no material modifications are needed for the financial statements to be in conformity with the applicable financial reporting framework. Reviews primarily consist of analytical procedures and management inquiries while providing a higher level of service than preparations and compilations, but less assurance than an audit.

The report is restricted to the specified parties and is commonly used to address targeted compliance, contractual, or financial reporting matters.
Examinations
An examination engagement provides reasonable assurance in the form of an opinion on whether subject matter or an assertion is presented in accordance with specified criteria. Examinations may apply to financial forecasts, compliance matters, internal controls, or other defined subject areas.
Audits
An audit engagement provides reasonable assurance that financial statements are free from material misstatement and are presented fairly in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework. Audits involve risk assessment, testing of transactions, evaluation of internal controls, and the issuance of an independent auditor’s opinion. Audits are often required by lenders, investors, regulators, or governing bodies.
